“I honestly thought it was a bunch of bunk, but here I am, a month later

“I have been seeing Dr. Todd for about a month now. He suggested I try neck decompression as I had a serious car accident about 12 years ago and was struggling with reduced mobility.

I honestly thought it was a bunch of bunk, but here I am, a month later, able to turn my neck. I could not do that before at all without turning my entire body.

I am very pleased and recommend Community Chiropractic to anyone who is struggling with pain or arthritis. Dr. Todd and his staff are amazing!”

When It’s Time to Consider Spinal Decompression

Whether your symptoms are a few months old, or well-advanced and you’re considering surgery, spinal decompression could be a solution for you. Here are some signs you should book an examination with us:

  • Low back pain or sciatica symptoms have persisted for longer than 2-3 weeks
  • You are consistantly taking over-the-counter medication to relieve the pain you experience
  • You have started to consider surgery or spinal injections
  • You have been diagnosed with bulging or herniated discs

Spinal decompression is designed to be an alternative to spinal surgery and injections. Unlike surgical interventions, spinal decompression therapy is a non-invasive treatment that works in harmony with your bodies natural healing processes.

Here’s How Spinal Decompression Works:

Spinal decompression is a state-of-the-art therapy that can effectively and safely treat herniated, bulged, or degenerated disc issues, low back pain, sciatica, and more.

Patients are positioned comfortably on the table and are harnessed into the machine. Once harnessed into the machine, a traction is applied to create space between your vertebrae. The traction:

  • Creates space between your vertebrae to promote the retraction of disc issues and relieves pressure on the nerves to promote healing
  • Can be applied to the neck or the lower back, depending on your area of concern
  • Strength is set dependent on your age, weight, height, and condition.

Frequently Asked Questions About Spinal Decompression

Find answers to the most common questions our patients ask about spinal decompression.

Spinal decompression is a procedure commonly used in Windsor to address back pain and facilitate the healing of herniated, bulging, or degenerated discs. This treatment involves the use of a specialized table or device that gently stretches the spine. The patient is positioned comfortably on the table, and the device is programmed to apply controlled stretching to the spinal column.  The primary objective of this therapy is to enhance the body’s natural healing processes by improving the flow of nutrients and oxygen to the affected area. As a result, patients experience pain relief, improved disc healing, and enhanced mobility.
Yes – spinal decompression therapy at Community Chiropractic Center is an effective treatment for sciatica. This method aims to alleviate the pressure on the sciatic nerve, which is responsible for the pain, numbness, and discomfort that radiates from the lower back to the legs. Through gentle stretching of the spine, spinal decompression can help minimize the irritation of the sciatic nerve, providing relief from the severe symptoms commonly associated with sciatica.
Our spinal decompression table in Windsor is renowned for its ability to deliver superior spinal decompression outcomes. With its advanced computerized system, it tailors decompression treatments to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring more precise and effective relief for spinal conditions. This targeted approach provided by the technology surpasses the generalized decompression offered by inversion tables, making it a valuable asset for those in Windsor seeking spinal decompression therapy.

Spinal decompression can be a great alternative to surgery. While it is not guaranteed to keep you out of surgery, it is a great avenue to explore before you entertain more invasive procedures.

No, while there is a targeted pressure applied to your spine, it is not painful. Many patients are able to rest or even sleep while receiving treatment.
After a detailed examination, our chiropractic team will present a care plan specific to your needs. Depending on the severity of your case, most patients are recommended between 8-24 visits.
