Spinal Decompression Windsor
Discover our innovative solution for sciatica, low back pain and disc conditions
Do you suffer from extreme low back pain, sciatica, or disc conditions such as herniated or degenerated discs, and spinal stenosis?
With our state-of-the-art spinal decompression tables, we can help treat the underlying cause of these symptoms and conditions, and start you on your path to recovery.
Here’s How Spinal Decompression Can Help You
By applying gentle, negative pressure to your spine, spinal decompression effectively reduces pressure on the spine and creates more space between the vertebrae.
Spinal decompression can help treat:
- Chronic low back pain
- Sciatica
- Herniated and degenerated discs
- Spinal stenosis
- Degenerative disc disease
- Posture problems
At Community Chiropractic Center in Windsor, we begin every new patient with a detailed examination, health history review and x-rays to determine if you are a good candidate for spinal decompression.
When It’s Time to Consider Spinal Decompression
Whether your symptoms are a few months old, or well-advanced and you’re considering surgery, spinal decompression could be a solution for you. Here are some signs you should book an examination with us:
- Low back pain or sciatica symptoms have persisted for longer than 2-3 weeks
- You are consistantly taking over-the-counter medication to relieve the pain you experience
- You have started to consider surgery or spinal injections
- You have been diagnosed with bulging or herniated discs
Spinal decompression is designed to be an alternative to spinal surgery and injections. Unlike surgical interventions, spinal decompression therapy is a non-invasive treatment that works in harmony with your bodies natural healing processes.
Here’s How Spinal Decompression Works:
Patients are positioned comfortably on the table and are harnessed into the machine. Once harnessed into the machine, a traction is applied to create space between your vertebrae. The traction:
- Creates space between your vertebrae to promote the retraction of disc issues and relieves pressure on the nerves to promote healing
- Can be applied to the neck or the lower back, depending on your area of concern
- Strength is set dependent on your age, weight, height, and condition.
What to Expect During Your Visit
Health History Review
The first step for your new patient visit will be to complete your new patient forms. New patient forms can either be completed online before your visit, or in-person.
If you plan on doing your forms in the clinic, we recommend attending your visit 15 minutes early.
Examination & X-Rays
Once your forms are completed, Dr. Todd or Dr. Sarah will review them with you, and complete a detailed examination and consultation.
If applicable, a set of x-rays will also be completed to give our chiropractors a comprehensive view of your spine.
Report of Findings & Treatment
After your examination and x-rays are completed, we will book a second visit with you for your report of findings.
During your second visit, we will go over care recommendations based on your examination, and if applicable complete your first spinal decompression treatment!
