When It’s Time to Pursue Shockwave Therapy Treatment

If your symptoms are a few months old or even a few weeks old, shockwave therapy could be an effective option for you. Here are some signs you should book an examination with us:

  • Chronic pain that has lasted longer than a week
  • You find yourself often taking over-the-counter medication to relieve pain
  • Sleep quality has decreased due to the pain or injury
  • You have been diagnosed with conditions like arthritis, tennis elbow, tendinitis, or plantar fasciitis

Shockwave has been increasingly used as a non-surgical alternative for patients in Windsor suffering from long-standing musculoskeletal disorders.

Here’s Why Shockwave Therapy Works:

Shockwave therapy is a high-intensity sound wave treatment utilized by our chiropractic team in Windsor.

Originating outside the body, these sound waves induce a process in the applied area called caviation. Caviation forms small, gas-filled bubbles that expand and burst – this physiological reaction leads to beneficial biological effects in the area of treatment.

The central mechanism of shockwave therapy lies in its ability to simulate tissue repair, which reduces pain and restores function. This is pivotal in accelerating the body’s healing process by enhancing blood circulation and metabolism in the affected area.

Once your forms are completed, Dr. Todd or Dr. Sarah will review them with you, and complete a detailed examination and consultation.

The purpose of this examination is to determine of you have a condition or symptoms that shockwave therapy can help with.

Report of Findings & Treatment

After your examination and consultation is completed, we will book a second visit with you for your report of findings (if necessary).
