Insight Millennium Subluxation Station™

Along with manual evaluation, the doctors at Community Chiropractic utilize new state-of-the-art technology to further track and document your progress while you receive care. The Insight Millennium Subluxation Station™ provides various scanning applications for measurement of muscle and nervous system activity. Since symptoms, like pain, are always the last to show and first to go, it is important to be able to monitor the function of the Nervous System. Your body can be malfunctioning for months, even years, before you experience any symptoms.

Insight Millennium will objectivley help us to…

• Detect areas of nerve disturbance

• Document and monitor your results

• Deliver the appropriate chiropractic care

This equipment helps us to implement definitive care for each patient, monitor progress, and reassure patients of that progress. The color scans, viewed over time, are like snapshots of the effects of accumulated stress. With them, we are able to gain a visual story of what has been happening in your life that is affecting your body, and provide a “tailor-made” program to meet your specific health needs.

“Do the Insight Millenniun tests hurt?”

The Subluxation Station features three painless, non-invasive tests that will help us characterize abnormal activity surrounding your spine. This activity can be associated with a subluxation or other forms of spinal dysfunction. A subluxation or misalignment, is a problem in the spine where an abnormal position/movement of the vertebrae disturbs communication within the Central Nervous System (housed in the spine) causing a disturbance in the body.

The three standard tests will measure:

1. SEMG – the amount of electrical current in the muscles.

2. Thermography – skin temperature along the spine.

3. Inclinometry – range of movement of the spine.

“Why do I have to keep coming back if I’m pain free?”

People under chiropractic care often wonder: “Why do I have to keep coming back if I’m pain free?” or “How do I know I’m getting the proper amount of adjustments?” Progress can be monitored by the improvement in the scans, which are graphically displayed throughout the course of your treatment. Now you can see for yourself, as your care progresses, that you’re getting the proper number of adjustments, and you will also be able to better understand why pain-free does not always equate to “problem solved.”

Surface Electromyography (SEMG) Scan

The Surface Electromyography (SEMG) Scan measures how well the motor nerves are working by reading the amount of currrent found in the muscles. Subluxations disturb the function of the nerve, causing an abnormal amount of electrical current flowing to your muscles (indicated by colours and/or abnormal patterns). Normal function is illustrated with white bars. Abnormal function is color coded as follows: Green bars – mild; blue bars – moderate; red bars – severe.

Muscle Balance or Symmetry Pattern Scan (EMG)

The Muscle Balance or Symmetry Pattern Scan measures the amount of ‘pull’ the muscles surrounding the spine are exerting. When the spine is out of alignment, it causes a muscle imbalance, resulting in fatigued or weak muscles along the spine.

Rolling Thermal Scanner

The Thermal Scan measures temperature differences between each side of your body. When the communication between the nervous system and blood vessels is disturbed, it causes the body’s thermostat to malfunction, producing an imbalanced temperature reading along the spine.

This test measures your spine movement as compared to a normal reading. When there is abnormal positioning of the vertebrae, it disturbs the nerous system and causes abnormal muscle function which leads to abnormal movement of the spine. The longer the movement is restricted, the more irritation will occur causing increased degeneration.

This instrument allows the chiropractor to evaluate tender areas along your spine, by applying gentle pressure and measuring the sensitivity of these areas to pressure. This test is for the nerve pathways associated with perception of pain. Spinal subluxation, where misalignments irritate nerves, can cause pain and tenderness.
